Service
Provider to the AAC (Anglo American plc Group)
As already highlighted previously TUe & MI (Pty) Ltd is an approved service provider for QA (Quality Assurance)
and QC (Quality Control) to the Anglo American plc group.
Important QA / QC Pojects have been completed or running
presently:

Final release / witnessing of FAT on Switchgear, 24kV Goode
Hope Collieries panel replacement at ABB Brno,
Czechoslovakia in August 2010.

In 2011/2012 for Debswana Jwaneng at Borusan Mannesmann-Izmit,
Turkey
Equipment Supply - 48,006 metres of 660 mm NB 6 mm WT Spiral
welded pipe, internally lined with epoxy and externally
coated with Polyethylene.

In May 2012 for Kolmar inspection carried out on of 2 X
LHD-FBL-10: MINDSET mining machines, including straight lip
buckets, Fuel Module, Side shift Forks, Slewing Jib Crane,
GP Trailer, 1600 Belt Reeler, 5th Wheel Attachment for
Trailer.

In Jun 2012 for Anglo Coal South Africa relevant test
requirement undertaken at source works prior to shipping to
South Africa. The test scope of work was as per SANS/IEC
60076-5 Ability to withstand short circuit. Witness and
verify the tests conducted on each unit and to provide the
requisite reports and data sheets as per the Specification.
The reports are to be furnished to the client prior to any
shipping taking place.

For Anglo Operations Limited call of contract for QA
inspection services related to the manufacturing contracts
applicable to the Kolomela Ramp-Up Projects.

In Nov 2012 call for the provision of Quality Assurance and
Inspection Services during the manufacture of one only RH340
Face Shovel Bucket to be supplied by VR Steel via their
Shanghai Office and nominated subcontracted fabricator
Hooding Songhua.

Other important Projects carried out: In Feb. 2011 for
ConocoPhillips Indonesia Ltd at ArcellorMittal South Africa,
monitoring and inspection 6” seamless pipe (Quantity: 1400 pcs).
The inspection request has changed to witness mechanical test
and chemical analysis, include review test report which had to
be done in the factory.
There are a lot of smaller contract for the provision of
Design and drawing verification, Certification, Re-rating and
In-service inspection as required to establish compliance with
SANS 347.

Quality
Management Assessment (under
the guidance of Business Excellence)
Specifically for the supplier for the automotive
industry it is important to know where the company is staying /
rated with regard to his own international standards or
management system compared to other companies. We conducted
26 Supplier Audits in
Germany. All supplier's management system was certified according to the
standards EN ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and TS 16949. We observed
weaknesses and of course the strength within the quality
management system.

We
would like to provide assistance to companies where the
management is certain that some areas of the quality system can
be improved and streamlined. Specifically to manufacturers we
offer this specialist one day assessment.
The
assessment will highlight the strength and weaknesses of the
company. As a suggestion the assessment report will provide a
to-do list for the management. The findings can than be
discussed by the management / functional teams, be individually
rated and
prioritised and - if necessary - incorporated in the company’s
policy and action lists.
